What is Pinerly? New Pinterest Analytics Tool Launches

Submitted by on April 25, 2012 – 8:37 pm |

We ALL know by now that Pinterest is turning out to be a really serious traffic driver for a lot of sites. Who would have thought that an online pinboard would cause so much excitement? But whatever your thoughts about the platform its become important for, not just consumers, but businesses great and small.

It’s just got even more exciting with Pinerly. This startup aims to provide detailed analysis of how well your content is performing on the Pinterest platform. It’s a Pinterest analytics dashboard that’s already signed up 35,000 users, which includes some big name brands, and looks set to be a staple element of any social media report. In the words of Rick Kats, the founder and CEO:

“We provide tools to allow users to post content, and easily compare the virality, reach, and engagement of each campaign.“Via Laura Lee Walker’s interview

There are stories all over the place about this guy who made this much money, and this girl who got this much traffic from Pinterest, but without analytics information to trial, test and allow us to form a frame of reference for how and why something works and something else doesn’t we’re all shooting in the dark somewhat… and clients don’t like to hear that! This could be a really big step in seeing Pinterest talked about a LOT more in client meetings because we agency sorts love our analytics and justification numbers don’t we just.

It’s pretty basic at the moment, giving information relating to how well pins, which are tracked by Pinerly are doing. These are called ‘campaigns’. But according to sources, Pinerly is looking to vastly improve this and provide detailed pin performance data and Hootsuite style scheduling services so that you can time the pinning of your pins. Sounds good!

It’s a really interesting tool, and further proof of the success of this controversial and seemingly omnipresent new social sharing platform. I’m looking forward to seeing how this develops hugely!
